Associate - PERE Fund Accounting [Luxembourg]

Summary: Reporting to the Head of Fund Accounting / PERE, the Associate will be an integral part of the team’s success.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The Associate will be responsible the day to day administration of Alternative Funds, SPVs, Holding Companies and GP entities, delivery to clients, and assisting members of the team.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the stakeholders of the funds, SPVs, holdings and GP entities
  • Process capital activity for the funds in the accounting systems, including commitments, subscriptions, capital calls, distributions, drawdowns, redemptions, rebalances and transfers
  • Liaise with banks, brokers, custodian, depositary and investment manager for the processing of trades, cash transactions, income and expenses on a daily basis
  • Prepare daily cash, trade and portfolio reconciliations, investigate and resolve any breaks/discrepancies
  • Prepare funds' net asset value calculations and investor allocations in line with clients' requirements and deadlines
  • Update and maintain accounting records in accordance to GAAP/IFRS, internal controls and policies
  • Process bank wire transfers and payments of expenses
  • Calculate preferred return, waterfall, performance fee, management fee and other expense accruals
  • Respond to client-specific requests/inquiries and proactively anticipate client needs
  • Preparation of financial statements, notes, supporting information and tax schedules, liaising with auditors and ensure the reporting deadlines are met

Experience:

  • 2-years previous industry experience.
  • The successful candidates will be self-motivated and will show an ability to work in a demanding and progressive environment meeting deadlines as necessary.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, including Excel, and industry standard accounting software.

Education:

  • A university degree (B.A./ B.Sc./ M.B.A.) in Business (preferably specialising in accountancy or another financial-related discipline).
  • Good English level and writing skills; other languages, particularly French would be an advantage.
  • Understanding of Luxembourg alternative funds structures (Hedge, PERE), holding companies, SPVs, agreements and investment strategies.
